Cancer Connected

We are proud to announce our participation to the Cancer Connections exhibit, benefit for the Canadian Cancer Society. A few of our pictures of cancer survivors were selected by Photo Sensitive and will be displayed during this year's exhibit across Canada. We are extremely honoured to be part of this initiative and we are looking forward to bringing the Picture the Cure's mission and values a step closer to the public thanks to high impact events such as Cancer Connections.

About PhotoSensitive

PhotoSensitive is a non-profit, national collective of photographers that harnesses the power of the camera to contribute to dialogue and impact on important issues of the day. For the past 18 years, the sum of these visions has provided compelling social comments on issues such as AIDS, child poverty, hospital care, health, racism, injustice, literacy among First Nations peoples, and the aftermath of the tsunami disaster, to name a few. Cancer Connections is its most ambitious project to date. Utilizing photographers across Canada to photograph issues that impact the well-being of Canadians, PhotoSensitive uses the camera to tell a story, spur viewers to action and change the world, one photo at a time.

The national launch of Cancer Connections was held in Toronto on May 20, 2008. The exhibition will be seen in 11 major cities in 10 provinces over a two-year period, engaging and mobilizing individuals and communities across the country, with a grand finale in Ottawa in 2010.
